The Liebieghaus is home to a choice collection of modern-era figures of the fifteenth to nineteenth centuries: the period from the beginnings of the Renaissance to Mannerism, the Baroque, the Rococo and Neoclassicism.
Dr Maraike Bückling has been accompanying the development of the Liebieghaus Skulpturensammlung at close range for a long time. From 2006 to 2022, after more than twenty years in the position of curator at the Liebieghaus, she has been head of the Renaissance to Neoclassicism Department. Her chief research interest has been in European sculpture of the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries.
